PHASE III & VOLUNTARY CLEANUPS

The primary purpose of the Phase III environmental Assessment is to clean-up or remediate affected areas identified during the Phase II assessment. The ultimate goal of this phase of work is to obtain closure or “No further Action” letter from the state on the issue.

Active Phase III remediation may include the following areas:

  • Soil excavation and disposal

  • Soil vapor extraction

  • Soil vitrification

  • Groundwater pump and treatment

  • Groundwater air sparging

  • Enhanced bioremediation

  • Air venting

Other Options:

  • risk based assessment

  • indemnification from owner

  • Brownfields Agreement

Voluntary cleanups can be conducted as part of a state or federal program or by the client as part of a real estate transaction. Once affected soil and/or groundwater have been remediated to below applicable standards, Enviro Probe will pursue a “No Further Action” letter from the State regulatory agency.
